The role of a Life Coach?
As a life coach, I empower you to set goals and establish accountability for personal and professional success. I guide you as you articulate your aspirations, clarify the choices before you and create action plans to achieve your goals. I will raise your awareness around your thinking and if present your self-limiting behaviours. You set the agenda, and I serve as a non-judgemental objective party that helps keep you focused and stay on track. I help you break through old habits and negative thought patterns that have been holding you back and help you develop new practices so you can reach your desired goals.
How Does Life Coaching Differ from Counselling?
Counselling is designed to help people deal with problems which have their origins in the past and which stop or hinder them from living in the present. Counselling focuses on the past.
Coaching differs from this in that it deals with what is blocking present and future happiness and success. A coach helps people who are stuck in a certain aspect of their life and are struggling to find a way forward. Coaching also helps people who simply need help with planning and strategies regarding their future. Coaching is present-future focused.
What are benefits of Life Coaching?
Although the coaching experience is different for everyone, my clients report common outcomes. As a result of coaching, my clients report an increase in self-awareness, being easily able to identify when they are feeling stressed and anxious and what triggers them to feel this way. In addition, my clients enjoy increased self-esteem and confidence levels, improved communication skills, enhanced relationships, better work/life balance and less stress. Clients also reported having a more positive outlook on life, due to changing their thinking habits. They have a clearer sense of what is important to them and how they want to live their lives. They feel better physically and mentally and are finally moving forward towards definitive goals.
